The Pens do look strong. I was wrong about Fleury, he held up nicely during these playoffs. If ever they get the Wings in the Finals, I think it will be a rough time for him. The most explosive offense he will face.

Well....as a native of the burgh, and a season ticket holder during the first two cups you can all tell where my loyalties are. One of my best memories is sitting three rows behind the net when Mario scored his first goal on his first shift in his first NHL game....

Go Pens!!!

I'm on board rooting for the Pens. This will be the first seriese for them against a team ranked higher than 5th seed, and they'll start on the road.

I hope that Malkin and Crosby can keep their head straight when they start getting pounded. They showed a tendancy to retaliate a little too much in the last couple rounds, instead of staying focused. Of course, they still won the last two rounds 8-2, but they could do better.

Go Pens!

this series is going to be great. two highly skilled teams that play great defense will make for a bunch of nail biting games. 1-0, 2-1... i don't think the series is going to be very physical though. any power play could mean the difference betwen a win or a loss, ANY powerplay. the difference is going to be which team forechecks and backchecks the best. if you give any of these guys room, crosby, malkin, franzin, dicksuck..sorry ducksoup..datsyuk,zetterberg, they will burn you. it's gonna be tight. can't wait till saturday, stanley cup finals and the great hefe experiment will commence. it's gonna be great!

LET'S GO PENS!!!

Yeah... I can't believe that last game against the Flyers. That was incredible. That put me in pig heaven. I was sitting in Bear Republic drinking Crazy Ivan (50% Racer 5 wort, 50% Red Rocket wort, fermented with Belgian yeast... pretty good... pretty different) Red Rocket, Batch 1092 (a messed up double batch of Racer 5 that was aged in bourbon barrels - SO GOOD). Sitting there watching the Pens just SPANK the Flyers was the best part of this trip thus far.

Got to hit Russian River... Rogue in Newport, OR., Eel RiverBrewing - organic beer, really good beer, SUPER good food - and North Coast. It's going pretty well right now. I've got some places in Albany and Bend, OR to hit in the next couple of days. Then back to Sacramento and San Francisco to watch the start of the Stanley Cup Finals and drink in the 21A, Gordon Biersch, Anchor and Sac Brewing. If the Pens win... this could end up being the best vacation EVER!!! Beer and Hockey...

BEER AND HOCKEY!!

LET'S GO PENS!!!

Wow... I can't believe you said that. I expect this series to be more physical than the Flyers series. Detroit is going to try to come out hitting, because it has worked to knock Crosby and Malkin off their games. The Pens have still found ways to win, but its a strategy I think Detroit will continue.
