Howdy!

Howdy!

Ive been listening for about 6 months and really enjoy the shows. (even Lunch Meet)

Im just about all the way through the archives and am up to date on the Jamil Show. Ive been brewing on and off for 14 years, but only in the last 2 years have I gotten serious about it and started doing all grain.

I batch sparge, with very poor efficiency 55%-60% and am trying to get that up as well. Ive learned a ton from the info here and on the shows and Im making the best beer i ever have.

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.

"Grind it till you're scared." Too coarse of a crush seems to be the most common cause of low efficiency.

Thanks Mallard, its good to see that even here Houston and Dallas will never like each other. Maybe we should settle it on the football field. Tell you what, we'll take the Pre-NFL cowboys and the Oiler....oh wait, the cowboys were called the Texans back then. Holy shit! I almost forgot!!!! I guess all the imaginative people in Houston still work at Nasa or work figuring a way to ass pound you with traffic on any given minute of any day. Sure wish I lived there, I'd love for my street signs to be in 4 different languages but not English. Baytown? Need I say more?

All football and city sh*t talk aside, thanks for the welcome. We've been pounding the green heads up here the last few weekends since it started acting cold. Im just guessing your a duck hunter from your handle.

I do miss the Pho joints down there though. Hard to get good Pho up here.

Cheers!
