Hello from across the pond

Fri Oct 26, 2007 10:18 am

Hi. I've been brewing for a few years, mostly all grain. I used to have a nice, big house with a cellar and a big yard, which made brewing easy...

I'm currently living in a claustrophobic one-bedroom apt, more or less sleeping with my feet out of the window. Which makes brewing difficult...

But I'm all for making the most of things, so I'm brewing 2.5 gals extract brews now.

I've found heaps of inspiration in the brewcasts over the years, not to mention the forums, so looking forward to contribute a bit...

My english is somewhat rusty, so if I fuck up I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know ;)

Thanks for the reply. And for letting me know I hadn't inadvertantly (sp?) offended anyone yet :D

I plan on living in this hole in the wall for another year, and then buy a small farm where I can grow hops, build a decent sized brewery, keep some animals and, most importantly, grow hops. And maybe a small distillery ;)

I live in Norway, the land of the "Ø".

Regards,
Thomas

Welcome to the ranks!! Glad to see we are getting more brewers from outside the States!

Don't worry about your English, heck most of us don't speak well.

Thanks again :)

If I can find a suitable place and a job in my field reasonably close to it, I'm set. Man, I miss being able to brew 10gal all grain batches... I miss even more being able to lager several 10gal batches... Not to mention drinking, err, I mean tasting them...

No shit  It's not bad right now, though. Cold enough to make the air smell and taste fresh, but not so cold that it hurts. Unless you try to breathe.

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

Guess I don't have to feel self conscious about my english, then ;)

There is the case of my lacking social intelligence, though

I have the impression that the BN crowd are great people :)

Welcome to the madness. Glad you have found a way to brew at least small batches.

Don't worry about your "lacking social intelligence" most of us are lacking too. That's what makes this place fun.
