True, you can cut the hose off. Of course you would remove the regulator and hose from the tank before getting a flame anywhere near it, if you were to go that route.

Lufah, yeah, that's exactly what I've got. I wasn't sure if you could safely remove the regulator from a full tank. I've never used one of these things before. Cool, that makes a lot more sense. Just remove the regulator, hold it over the steam from a kettle or something, and pull it right off. Simple enough. Thanks guys!

Another thing is I have never taken that stone off the tube. I just throw the whole thing in a bucket of star san.

I've got the same thing Beerpal has. Lufah, you may want to think about removingthe stone and boiling it before use.I know your pushing 02 through it while it's submerged, but still, it's porous and you never know what might crawl up there. Just ask Beerpal what crawls up his holes when no one's looking.
