This is from the post on my HBclub's website. www.hopbarley.org I think I saw a post from you on there about the strong ale fest at the Pumphouse. How was that? I really wanted to go but miss it. What did Bear Republic bring. I'm real sorry I missed a chance to try some of those west coast beers...

Anyway, here's the post about the Big Brew
Hope to see you there.

WHAT IS BIG BREW?

Each year on the first Saturday in May, homebrewers unite non-brewing and brewing friends and family to celebrate National Homebrew Day, joining with thousands of homebrewers from around the world in brewing the same recipes and sharing a simultaneous toast at noon Central Time.

Before the event, participants that are planning BIG BREW events register their site on this web site. These registered sites help the American Homebrewers Association track how many participants celebrated the event. Event results will be posted on this page a few weeks after the event.

HOW TO CELEBRATE:
Before the event
• Register your Big Brew Site
• Invite non-brewing and brewing friends and family to help brew beer
• Read this year's Big Brew recipe
•Hold a special beer dinner for friends and family you're going to brew with
•Find out if there is a Big Brew site in your area and join in on some homebrewed fun

DURING THE EVENT:
• Tell friends and family about other American Homebrewers Association fun events – National Homebrewers Conference, Mead Day and Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day
• Bring out homebrewing literature for your friends to read– Zymurgy, Zymurgy for Beginners and The New Complete Joy of Homebrewing and other homebrewing books
• Drink homebrew, pair your homebrew with food and HAVE FUN

AFTER THE EVENT:
• Fill out the Remittance form on this page and tell us how many participated at your site
• Check out this site for post-event numbers
• Bottle the beer you brewed together
• Buy an American Homebrewers Association membership as a gift for new homebrewers
• Have new homebrewers check out www.beertown.org for up-to-date brewing information

Just noticed this post. It may be more helpful.

KROCHeads,
I know 9 of you said at the last meeting that you would be brewing at Pott's next Saturday ( May 5th) for National Homebrew day - Big Brew.

These is plenty of water, but we need people to bring water hoses. Dennis has great water pressure and 2 taps for us to use outside, and we have 2 "Y" valves, so 4 people can be using water at the same time, but again, we need hoses for those people who need water.

Power: Dennis has a few outlet. I plan on bringing a 20 amp cord, and then people can tap into that out in the parking lot. So if you need power for your system, bring an extension cord.

Also everyone who is all grain brewing should plan on starting by 10 am at the latest, so you can be done by dark. The parking lot does not have great lights, so we need to all be done by dark.

I plan on setting up around 8 am, so anyone else is welcome to set up then.

Also if you have a canopy, please let me know. If the weather is bad we will need to try and set up 2 systems under each canopy.

If you can bring hoses or a canopy please let me know.

Thanks,
Cary

The Strong Ale Festival was great. I had many great beers from several brewers. The ones that impressed me the most were The Pumphouses, Sour Cherry Stout, Golden City's IPA and A-B Ascent 54. I did not see Bear Republic there. They probably were I must have just missed them. I assume that the Big Brew @ C. B. & Potts is at the Westminster location?

Welcome!

Hey there,
Welcome to the BN. The Big Brew is actually going to be at the Broomfield location -- that's the one by Flatirons Mall. I'm going to try and make it, seeing as how I'm an extract brewer, my brew "day" really only lasts about 4 hours :-)

They're recommending AGers start no later than 10am. Maybe I'll see you there, I know what your sculpture looks like!

Thanks Steve,
I am going to try and have her completed by then. Although I am a little nervous about brewing my first AG in front of everyone. I'm sure it might be helpful as well. Well I guess will see. Thanks again for the info!

You must get to the GABF! They have that in Denver every year-

Watch out for some guy named Bub, too.
