Finally Signing In

Thu Feb 15, 2007 2:43 pm

While I'm sipping the Nut Brown I bottled on 01/13/07 and listening to the podcast version of the cider show from 05/21/06 I figured it was probably time to drop in on the forum and say hi...

"Hi!"

I'm probably hopelessly out of date, don't know if you even play "touch the felt" anymore, and I haven't even put the hoppy hat on my avatar ... and it's only Thursday and I'm thinking of calling in as drunk of the week.

Typical of me to miss all the good stuff ...

Cheers!

Welcome!

Ah... the cider show. Good one. That was the first sighting of the now infamous Push Eject if I'm not mistaken.

How's that Nut Brown?

The Nut Brown came out nicely, especially considering it's my second batch. It's the NB extract kit. This weekend I'm bottling what I'm calling "Blonde Stout" ... so called because it's my first kit from the local homebrew store, and I didn't notice that they included several small steeping bags instead of one big one. Without thinking I poured all the crushed grain into one bag. It looked nice and dark in the kettle, but after adding the makeup water in the fermenter and taking the first gravity reading it was just a muddy brown.

Thanks for the welcome!

It was a few episodes later that the Push/Sven collaboration (still not sure if it's titled "Five O'Clock" or "Drink Muthafucka Drink") appeared. I still haven't made out all of the words, and have had no success finding the transcribed lyrics. Of course, I'm lazy, I'm prepared to be spanked down for not finding an obvious link on the home page for lyrics and mp3's for "Pale Ale", "Touch the Felt", and "Drink Muthafucka Drink".

I'm currently tempted to change my sig to "I coulda' mixed it with chocolate ..."

Lots more catching up to do, but sadly I'll probably never hear Daniella try to pronouce my name. I'm guessing it would be "scar eh crow pah", but that's food for another post...
