Yeast washing question

Mon Nov 13, 2006 3:55 pm

All, (Except Gucci)

I need some help with this yeast washing thing. I am trying to wash yeast, and THOUGHT the yeast was the lighter colored stuff and was suppoed to be on the top. I have the lighter colored stuff on the bottom with the light brown stuff on top. Any thoughts or comments?

Pic is Here

What part do I pour to the next mason jar??

Thanks for your help

How long was that sitting... when you shake you should pour within 2-3 minutes or so... just long enough for the chunky stuff to settle.

Hmmm, I typically use one of these to wash yeast. Don't forget the softener or you will get scratchy yeast...
