There are these things that are like the ultimate beer containers. They are made up of glass and come in a bunch of different sizes. Most people call them "BOTTLES" But you can call them what you like.





Oh yeah, I tend to prefer the half gallon bottles aka growlers.

Maybe I should have been more clear. I brew a 10 gallon batches and I will never bottle more than what is required for competition. This is for a brewing friend who would like to have fresh beer available in his refer. I have been filling growlers off the tap but that doesn't keep well. I have a second brewing friend who invested in the 2-1/2 gallon keg unit with the Innovative Systems CO2 injector. He has the extra refer to house it.

Pre-purge with CO2 and counterpressure fill them and they will keep for months.

Obviously I had a crack-addled capuchin monkey doing my web site work in 2003

Hopefully the information is useful even if the layout would have been better done by a 3yo with a crayon.

The growler filler really does work a treat. It's hands free as long as the neck of the bottle and the stopper are a little wet, and they usually are with sanitizer.

I use 1 and 2 liter plastic water bottles to exchange beer with a friend on the east coast I I usually bottle up a liter of two from each batch and mail to him, he does the same for me. When I receive the beer it is flat never been carbonated, I chill it then hit it with about 10lbs co2 using a carbonation cap then give it a good shake let it settle and hit it with 10 lbs again, and like magic you have a nicely carbonated beer. The carbonation caps look like the gas inlet valve from a stainless steel soda keg. Once screwed onto the top of a plastic bottle, you can attach the gas fitting from a standard CO2 tank to pressurize the bottle. This is an easy system to use and bottles wont break if they get banged around. The carbonation cap runs about 10 dollars and it is useful for other beverages, my wife likes a little fizz in her cranberry juice.
