I Can't Download any Podcasts

Wed Dec 02, 2009 8:21 pm

Hi, For some reason I am unable to download any BN Podcasts. I have Dl'd the current version of WinAmp 5.56 and the Abacast Client v1.64b2. When I click on Download Button my browser (Internet Explorer 8.0.7100.0) goes to "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

Any ideas how I resolve this?

I'm getting an error too. Something must be temporarily up with the web server. Try right-clicking the download button and choosing "save link as". That works for me.

Which show? What page are you attempting the download from? I just tried a show at random and it worked fine.

This is the only way I can save them.(using Chrome) If I left-click, it opens WMP and begins playing the file.

Thanks guys, I'll try a right click and save. I would really like to get them to automatically go into ITunes. But I'll deal with that after I figure out how to get them at all.

I get the same result on all BN show's. Any show I try, this has been an ongoing issue. I've attempted several times over the past few months and same result. I considered a server issue so didn't push it but this has been consistant.

Good news. I can right click and save the shows. They download into a folder I just created. Cool.

Thanks

Now to deal with Itunes. :jnj

Ron,

Maybe I don't understand a few things.

1. Why are you using a browser to download shows and then put them into iTunes? Just use iTunes and subscribe to the feeds and download from there.

2. The servers here have no control over what your browser does with a link you click on. Your browser will do whatever it has been configured to do, like save, open with a particular app, or ask you each time for your choice.

Thank you, I have previously set up Itunes to subscribe to the BN podcasts. But they don't download for some reason into Itunes. That is the reason I have been trying to use my browser. As I said I was unable to download them that way also, so I had no idea if it was an issue on my end (Itunes, Internet Explorer, Win 7) or something is just misconfigured. My first thought was a server issue, so I gave it some time. When I re attempted same thing, still no joy.

I have found after advice from here, that I can Right click and "Save Link" into a folder then play them from there. Now I'll deal with Itunes. BTW- I hate Itunes! And the support IMHO sucks. But I like my Ipod Touch.

At any rate, I am now able to enjoy the Brewing Network podcasts. In a little bit of a round about way, but oh well it works.
