Corporal Brewdaddy checking in. Started listening in the Fall, joined the forum almost immediately, bought "BCS." I've become so addicted to the BN that I've listened to all four years of archives at work in about six months (even that other show). Anyway, like most everyone, money is tight for me and my family too, but what I've gotten from the brewcasters and the rest of the army is worth so much more than $5 a month that I signed up a couple of months ago and haven't looked back. I even have sick fantasies of dropping great gobs of money in J's lap if I ever win the lottery. That's right, I said "dropping great gobs in J's lap."

In addition, kudos to BrewTa2. As J is so fond of pointing out, this is our forum and our brewcast, and I think it's awesome that Brewtat has manned up and taken the lead in encouraging everyone to support the BN (in whatever way you can). If you can't afford it, for goodness sake, don't contribute. But, if you can afford $2 a month and you are a regular listener, jump in and let's see how far we can take this thing.

Everyone can afford $2 a month! There shouldn't be anyone that isn't contributing at least that much....IMO.

Shameless? Yes. But not wrong. You guys certainly pay more than a couple of bucks a month to run your spots, so it is imperative that we keep you fiscally sound enough to do so.

NikoBrew wrote:Morebeer, Williams Brewing, and that hops place...Nikobrew.com :P Youre gonna buy your stuff anyway. :)

Careful how you phrase this. It's dangerously close to "that Other Show." You don't want to have your spots moved to :unicornrainbow: Then you'll have to stop selling homebrew supplies and start selling :nutters:

Unfortunately that's not true. My wife and I had a daughter last Fall (unexpectedly and after she was laid off and lost her insurance). Therefore, all of last year was strictly budgeted and did not allow for anything extra. We didn't even buy a cup of coffee if it wasn't budgeted. Fortunately, we've got some breathing room now, but don't take for granted that "everyone" can afford to directly help even a little bit. It sucks, but it's becoming more and more true these days.

Alright...after a couple of beer my rationalization goes out the window! But you know what I mean, In your case your right, there isn't a chance in hell you could throw down some bucks. But there are probably many that reap the BN benefits but won't go head to head with the wife to justify the paypal transaction. I think the BN has molded a lot of fine brewers and we should be grateful for the information. I think everyone knows what the right thing to do is, so if you can, do it!
