While I can't compete with the Hitchhiker nerdiness, try this: my new Vista box is named Arale, from the manga Dr. Slump that I discovered in Japan in the 80s; the Linux box is Cherry Poptart, from the comic I read in the 90s; and my laptop is called hiikeeba, a reference to Mystery Science Theatre 3000's Planet of Prehistoric Women episode. Hiikeeba is also my user name on a bunch of other forums, but I effed up registering it here, and had to pick a new name.

Mine is the "Hanger 18 Brewhaus". I live near Dayton, OH. and Wright-Patterson Air Force base, home of the supposed real Hanger 18 where the government keeps their little green men. :jnj

The name of my brewery is Second Line Brewery in honor of New Orleans culture and tradition. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_line You've all seen images of Second Line Brass bands.

I considered Murder Capital Brewing and New Orleans' Best Brewing but I haven't lived in New Orleans in 19 years.

So I setteled on Second Line.

A lil history about Second Lines, if you are bored.

Second line parades are the descendants of the city's famous jazz funerals and, apart from a casket, mourners and a cemetery visit, they carry many of the same traditions with them as they march down the streets. Today, the parades are not tied to any particular event, holiday or commemoration; rather, they are generally held for their own sake and to let the good times roll.

Second lines trace their roots back to the 19th century and the fraternal societies and neighborhood organizations that collectively provided insurance and burial services to members, especially among the African American community. The "first line" of a funeral consisted of the people who were an integral part of the ceremony, such as the members of the club or krewe, or family and friends of the deceased. The "second line" originally referred to people who were attracted to the music. Led by a "Grand Marshal", the band and mourners would move to the burial site, with the band playing a dirge to signal the struggles, the hardships, the ups and downs of life. On the way back, the music became more joyful. Relatives, friends, and acquaintances would become the second line and dance with wild abandon. The second line, usually sporting umbrellas and handkerchiefs, became traditional at these jazz funerals.

The noun second line, is also the name of a "unique dance", performed to the beat of New Orleans' traditional jazz.

Rainy Day Brewing Company

My wife and I are from Oregon and I just can't wait to get home. Also, Rayn is my son's middle name, and my wife's dead father's name was Day. Just thinking of all the rainy days on the coast under an eave of one of my buddy's houses, (or my own) knocking back a few good beers and flicking shit to one another makes me so homesick. This is what I want folks to feel and taste when they drink our beers. Someday soon it'll be above a door back home in Oregon.

Good food, Good friends, Great beer, Rainy Day Brewing Company

Cheers, and here's to all our dreams of making great beers for all to enjoy coming true!!!!!!!
