Yo from San Diego

Mon Jan 12, 2009 1:22 pm

Hey everyone!

My name is Matt and I hail from San Diego. I just started homebrewing last year and have 6 batches total under my belt so far. I've gained some great experience from friends much more experienced than I and (fortunately in my opinion) was able to skip right past the stove top brewing and all my batches have been done in my converted keg boil kettle. I've got everything I need to brew alone at home except for a wort chiller. I'm saving up for a morebeer CFC and until then I brew with my experienced buddies.

All batches so far have come out very well. They havent been too exciting yet. A pale, a dunkelweisen, an IPA, another hoppy pale, a double IPA and a stout all extract brewed with specialty grains.

I'm still bottling everything I brew and that's really becomming a drag so I'm slowly collecting parts to start kegging. I've got the CO2 tank and have started collecting parts and building my manifold and faucets along with all the tubing. I have a chest freezer I'm going to build a collar for and serve out of there.

I heard about the BN forums on the BeerSchool podcast and have started downloading the BN podcasts.

So, that's me. Glad to be here!

Matt

hey another matt from san diego.... if you are handy, you could always build your own imc from online copper venders..i have seen 50'+ 1/2 flexible copper for $30-40... then and a whirlpool attachment to that and you will be brewn strong.

Cheers, Matt. Welcome to the forums.

Good description of your brewing history but you left some important info out - Pants or No Pants?

Cheers,
