Living and Breathing

Wed Dec 31, 2008 9:53 am

Hey all, as one of the latest FNG's to the board, just wanted to say howdy. I stumbled into the board after finding and listening to a couple of Jamil's radio shows. I'm a relatively new brewer, like the rest of you have allowed this to become my latest obsession. But damn it's good stuff. I've been mainly an extract brewer moving into all grain with the new year. Living and breathing in the Sierra Nevada desert.

Welcome to the forums! You may find some of us a little odd (some odder than others  ) but you will find lots of good information as well as lots of fun. Don't worry about any insults we throw your way, that just means we like you. Just remember the first rule of the Brewer's Code: Don't be a douche. If you follow that rule, you will fit right in.

Thanks Wayne, I spent 27 years working with "the boys". So I'm use to the day to day fun. It was a matter of survival and stress reduction in the fire service. As long as it leads to brewing better beer, then life is good!

Welcome Phil. I too am fairly new to this, but credit the BN with turning a curiosity into an obsession. Don't have the money or space to go all-grain yet, but maybe I'll win a Morebeer sculpture (a brewer can dream).

And Bugeater says:

Just remember the first rule of the Brewer's Code: Don't be a douche. If you follow that rule, you will fit right in.

So how has JP stuck around so long?
