Cali goes by counties and it depends on population of the county...I think if it is over 300,000, it's a guaranteed no. But it is subjective too. Cali is not a Shall Issue State.

But you can carry a sword if you want. As long as it is 100% visible (handle can't even be slightly under a shirt or jacket) and in a sheath. If you carry a folding blade knife, the blade has to "snap" back to its resting position on it's own. And switchblades of 1.9" or shorter in length are allowed too.

Shit, I'm going to get off at the west oakland BART station, but it's a 10 minute walk to Linden Street Brewery.

Am I going to die?

Your call. It is not the worst part of town. kind of an industrial area, but IMO, walking alone in Oakland is not safe.

Check out the Oakland Crime map. Drag the bar at the bottom to show the crime:

Great website. But it looks like in the last month there has only been 1 car stolen from the brewery and a few reports of battery along that route. Not bad!

We can form a rat pack for the walk back.

Type in "95 linden st" in box A on the link below

Aww, man. No prostitution on that route. How is JP going to pick himself up a tranny on the way back to the hotel?
