I did my Saison yesterday... first AG batch. Seemed to go pretty well. Used a little Sam Calagione magic on it. We'll see how it comes out. Just hoping the yeast plays well.

I made my starter but didn't get around to brewing. I'm wondering what will happen in the starter to the saison yeast blend, since there's 2 yeasts in there. Presumably they will not grow at exactly the same rate, but I wonder if that will have any effects on how fermentation goes in the beer itself.

Brewed a Saison last week and that was the fastest fermentation I've ever had. Went from 1.065 to 1.011 in 5 days using WLP568 @ around 74...WOW! Kegged it, and going to cold age it for 2 weeks. Should I give it a diacytle rest for a couple days after that and then carb it?

My saison is whirlpooling right now. Perfect brew day, even though it was supposed to happen yesterday... got caught up listening to waterganza for the 3rd time and finally understanding it.

Excellent Name. Spanish/French? Spanch? or Frenish? :asshat:

Mine is La Saison Déplaisante. Not going to use a starter on this one. Just 2 warmed up vials. Hoping to get more esters that way.

Just don't get any bright ideas and try to drive the kid's big wheel again. :)

After 4 moves my keg frig may have given up the ghost, I went to put my Saison in it last night and it was warm. Going to see if I can't get it running again tonight, if not I see a big expense in my future.

Should BN employees (and I use that term loosely) be able to enter Community Brew #3? I say it should be a requirement, but they can't judge the final round. That should be done by a few special in studio guests. Maybe JZ, Sully, that weeks guest brewer and Beevo. That would be fun! Have a whole show dedicated to tasting listener beers.
