BN Army I need help on selections.......

BN Army,

My sister-inlaw's boyfriend is moving from Reno, NV to Austin TX, in a few weeks. In Texas they have some messed up labeling laws that prevent us geeks from getting different beers. I need some help with a beer list for him to bring to me. From listening to the shows I am asking him to bring some from Russian river and Firestone (DBA was a CYBI show, no) ? I am however I'm thinking I could be missing some other gems that I may not know about. Any additional knowledge would be helpful.

Could anyone help?

Much appreciated,
TONY

In California / Nevada I there are several Firestone-Walker beers in additional to the DBA that I would have him try. Bear Republic's Racer 5 is nice and there are many different from Russian River. If Lost Coast's Old Rasputin is not available in TX, get that as well. The 21 A is mentioned quite a bit (I forget where it is located), I have not tried anything from the can yet, but they had some tasty stuff on tap at the restaurant - maybe Monk's Blood is now available? Anderson Valley is another.

There is some good beer from the San Diego region as well, but not sure if any makes it up to Reno.

There are so many choices which makes these times pretty fun to be into beer.

don't forget Pliney the Elder and Blind Pig. the Stone El Camino Un)Real is mighty good. Lost Abbey beer doesn't make it East. neither does Trumer Pils.

Thanks guys,
Asked for a couple of bottles of the Elder and Blind pig. What wood aged beers would you get if you had to pick one or two? Temptation, Supplication.....

Any or all of Firestone he could find. The others that you mentioned I can get here. Racer 5 one of my favorites.

No 21st amendment though, I ll be partaking in that at NHC/BNA5. I can load up the SUV with as much as she will let me. :o

There are only 3 - try them all?

If must only have 2, then I prefer the two you mentioned.
