Bad Ass Shot Glasses

I know this is a little off topic here but while I was in Iraq in 2007 I managed to smuggle home (6) 40mm grenade launcher casings with the intent of using them as shot glasses. Someone cautioned me that there could be a reaction between the whiskey and the metal that could be toxic. I have no clue what kind of metal is it but it seems like there are enough prior service guys around here that someone might know and enough chemists that I can get an answer.

I have plenty of beer glasses but only a few shot glasses and putting 6 more into service would be a big help.

Thanks,
Paul

Maybe some epoxy as a liner would protect the cup and the drink?

I'm guessing they pretty much have to be some sort of alloy. They are very light and kind of a greenish/brown color when cleaned but not the usual brass I don't think.

I wanted to avoid coating them with anything them bc they still have all of the markings on them.

The have markings on the inside? I would line the inside and leave the outside as is.

running with the epoxy idea - you could just fill it with epoxy and then seat a cheap glass shotglass into it before it sets

- on the outside 40mm grenade, on the inside - clean pure shotglass
