Kegerator tragedy

Yeah, so I come home today and get all excited about the arrival of my new TBN shirt. I rush into the house to draw a celebrator pint and much to my dismay the tap is empty. I found this odd since I just tapped this keg on Tuesday night. I pop open the lid to find out that all 4.5 gallons had emptied out into the kegerator.

Damn that sucks what happened a quick connect not fully snap on or did a hose come loose

Apparently the qd was not seated all the way and I didnt realize it.

warm that bucket of spilled beer up to pasturization temp, let it cool down, put it back in the keg and drink it................. how bad can it be??

I have to say that I had considered trying to salvage the brew. I am currently studying Psychrophylic (cold-loving) bacteria though and know that there are surely some living in the kegerator. The last time I cleaned the thing out there was this dubious slime (biofilm) on the condensate that had accumulated at the bottom. I feed the beer to the Hydrangeas in the backyard a la Jamil style.

you can only try to take solace from the fact that you may have saved a lot of people from the same fate by putting this up here for all to see. i bet every member of this site will now double or triple check their qds whenever they connect them now. condolences for your loss, but think how much more beer you may have saved!
