It has hard woods under it but we need to move a wall before we rip it out.

HAH... you said "hard wood"... and now so did I!

This is my keggorator. The wife said if I made it look good, it could live in the house, so I spent several months (of weekends) working on the build.

First, I framed it with 2x4s, then skinned it with oak plywood and used oak baseboard molding on the edges for the "judges paneling" look.
I used Liquid Nails to glue a piece of 3/4" plywood directly to the lid of the freezer, then laid ceramic tile over that.
It fits 3 kegs in the well and the CO2 sits on the compressor hump.

About 6mos after finishing the project, the compressor died. But what really sucks is that I got the freezer as a hand-me-down from a relative - so no warranty.
Since then Ive had to revert to using picnic taps in the garage beer fridge. I currently looking for another freezer with the same dimensions, because Im going to have to re-use the freezer lid - no way to get it separated from the countertop without breaking the tile - damn Liquid Nails.

Here's mine. It can hold 10 kegs. The collar is 1x4" vinyl trim and is attached to the lid. Individual regulators for eight kegs. The faucets are Perlick. Magnetic printer paper for tap labels. Still working on a better drip tray  http://www.flickr.com/photos/30239190@N02/2833363214

I've already posted this in the past in it's own thread but figured I'd move it here just for neatness sake:

So yeah I finally got my kegerator knocked out the day before xmas eve. I just barely squeezed two corny kegs in there.

I went with brass faucets because they were cheaper than stainless steel but I think they look quite snazzy bouncing off the shiny blackness of the fridge.

Image

I had to massacre the hell out of the inside of the door to get it to fit everything in there. I had plastic dust flying all over the kitchen.

Image

Two cornies and a couple of packs of dry yeast for emergencies.

Image

Topped it all off with the most important: The sticker!

Yeah I know they make door inserts now...was too impatient at the time so I just went ghetto with the dremel tool.

Got my ZOMG IPA and Watermelon Wheat on tap!
Pri: Community Nudity Ale, Magician Red Ale, Berliner Weisse
Bottled: Paxton's Tripel and Dubbel, 400 Rabbits Ale, Cap'n Crunch Amber Oat Ale

Mine is pretty ordinary as well as small. Here it is and you can also see my nice grain bins on the right.

I just found out this week that I have to get a bigger kegerator. They won't let me keep my venison in the freezer at work any more so I need to convert my kegerator back into a freezer and buy a bigger freezer to convert to a kegerator. I want to go with 4 taps.

Going from kegerator back to freezer will be really simple since no modifications were made to the freezer itself. The lid hinges screw right to the collar and the collar is only held down by gravity. It's only a five minute job to restore the thing.
