It never fails. Everytime I brew solo, I screw up something.

Note to any thermometer manufacturers out there. Could you please put the F and C label in more visible place...

I was making a Blonde, and my mash temp was WAY low. I took some of the wort that I was getting up to boil at 170F, let it sit in the grain for a good 15 minutes, and then recirculated with that. Hopefully this beer can be saved. We will know in a month.

I've decided to, from the suggestion of Mike (AKA Bia of Berkeley), call that one my, Dumb Blonde. I am going to try it again tomorrow... and hopefully not F*** it up! And that will be my Smart Blonde.

Wish me luck... for once.

I was just noticing in your avatar that you're sitting on the top step of a ladder. Yet another label you didn't read. Just kidding.

Update on the Dumb Blonde:

Racked it into a keg for secondary fermentation today. Will force carbonate and tap in about 2 weeks.

Taste test was better than I thought! The beer is tasting excellent and I think it will turn out just fine! Freakin' sweet...
