shoot me in the face.

Thu May 28, 2009 10:57 pm

So I did my 2nd batch today.
Thinking life was great. putting the ferment in the fridge. where it was 68 degrees....I cam home from work and saw it was up to 80 degrees, but outside it was only 70...why? because the co2 releases heat and the fridge insulates that heat! DUH!

Do you think my LHBSS will carry that temp modifier? and also do i need one in this fair weather 70's in the closet....

If you have the $$$ to buy a temp controller, you'll find that it is one of the best purchases you can make (as long as you have a fridge to use). You can make fine beer without one, even great beer, but it is going to be hit and miss and sometimes darn near impossible. If you're not up for worrying over the fermenter all the time, a controller is really the way to go.
I hope my post helped in some way. If not, please feel free to contact me.

Haha, thanks for blowing my face off.

.....Well some of the yeast or most of the yeast survived.

And it looks like a good ferment is taking place.

Luckly, the weather has been great recently...
