Good luck with your process. I am fascinated by all the different souring mechanisms.

This batch is going into long term storage so I won't even be able to report back on this batch for another year.

This weekend I am starting the Flanders Red, wearing my Flanders Shirt... And thanks for ignoring the Flanders Shirt. You guys really hurt my feelings.....
:unicornrainbow:

I have two more packages of Roeselare and those will be used for the two stage fermentation of the same two flanders styles. Short fermentation with maybe wlp008 or wlp001. I just happen to really like the wlp008.

Then I just let them ride.... Each year I am going to put down four or five new batches. I already have two down for this year and the third this weekend.

Sorry, I thought it was better to say nothing about the shirt than to tell you how truly gawdawful ugly it is.

Second batch with the Roeselare Blend is in the tank! Brewed a Flanders Red right out of BCS. Went with straight Roeselare again. O2 but no starter. OG = 1.055
And I was wearing the Flanders shirt and my :nutters:

I even managed to assemble a long term storage area in the basement. I have room for four 5G carboys and I can expand it to 8... :asshat: :jnj

I've been wanting to brew up a Flanders Red for a while. The thing that is stopping me is equipment. Should I buy specific fermenters just for use with sour beers? tubing? anything else? Are these things going tbe able to be sanitized enough to go back into regular beer production?
Also, I still bottle right now. Do you prime and condition sour beers the same as any other brew? I ask this question mainly for anyone else who is in my current situation, as I will have my kegarator by the time a Flanders is ready.
