Greetings from Satan's Brewery

Mon Feb 18, 2008 8:08 am

Hi there, I'm a professional computer geek that lives in the Chicagoland area. I started homebrewing about 15 years ago, and I am just now starting up again after a 10 year break. I've listened to the 2005 BN archives and I'm starting on the 2006 ones now. I log all of my brewing info on my site. I think it is the responsibility of homebrewers to share information with one another so that the next generation can enjoy this wonderful avocation. Like scientists like to say "if we have seen further than those before us, it is because we are standing on the shoulders of giants". I learned to homebrew by reading The Complete Joy of Homebrewing. I'm an extract brewer due to time/space/money/skill constraints, but I shall upgrade to AG some day. I'll build my own sculpture. I enjoy building my own gadgets to save money and for the fun of it. I like homebrewing because it combines skills of art and science, and because I love beer!

-

EDIT: I originally learned to brew by reading TCJoH. I've enjoyed getting up to date by listening to TBN and doing much reading on the Internet (e.g. This BB and http://www.howtobrew.com/).

So did we all. No disrespect to Charlie - he is the Godfather of Homebrew... but maybe you should pick up a copy of How to Brew by Rock Candy, a.k.a. John Palmer. A lot of research has been done during your hiatus. Welcome back! Don't feed the Bub...
