Hello from San Luis Obispo. I've been brewing for about ten years and make all grain brews on a 10 gal. gravity system.

Cheers

Welcome surfbrewer ...

Does the handle mean you surf AND brew or brew IN the surf? What DOES a saltwater beer taste like? A gose perhaps?

Welcome to the BN surfbrewer. I first started brewing about 18 years ago when I lived in SLO for school. I really liked the San Luis Obispo Brew Society there (SLOBS), it was a good club that helped me learn a lot.

SLO town rocks! And if you consider the Madonna Inn - literally! My wife and I just stayed there this summer. We rented a Mustang conv. and drove up the PCH from Burbank to Mendocino. At the Madonna we stayed in this room that had rock on EVERY SQ. INCH (floor, walls, ceiling). It was like a cave - very, very cool. The shower had a waterfall built from rock. I insisted on calling my wife "Wilma", to complete the effect.

We hit that local brewpub with the couches upstairs. I dig that town. Welcome to the madness!

Welcome! I'm from Atascadero. I've been waiting for some more local listeners to come forward...what's your day job, and tell us a little about your brewing history.

Cheers!

Geez, sorry y'all for not responding. I missed that I got some feedback. Yeah SLO is a very cool area and it's nice to see some other local boys on the forum. I actually live in Los Osos, which is on the coast about 10 min. west of SLO and right next to Morro Bay.

I'm a local firefighter and luckily my schedule allows me some free time to do some brewing. I brew all types of ales and as soon as I can get some temp. control going I would like to start doing some lagers and get a handle on my Belgians. Without any temp. control my Belgian beers have been fairly disappointing.

I'm looking forward to joining the BN Army and I promise I will be more prompt in my responses. Maybe we SLO Town area brewers can get together for a brew swap or brew day. We'll see.

Cheers
