New to Brewing - Sort of

I've been brewing for almost a year now using the Mr. Beer system. I enjoy it and it makes good beer - although not enough. I have 3 fermenters constantly brewing. I started listening to the podcast here and a couple of others and hope to start doing some extract brewing and/or whole grain brewing as soon as I can get a system together. I enjoy the podcasts, keep up the good work.

If you think the Mr Beer stuff is good you should try one of the other methods you have mentioned. Feel free to ask questions we are usually somewhat willing to help

I started with a Mr. Beer kit about 5 years ago, too. It sounds like you have outgrown it just as I did (I realized it was time to move up when I was doing 2 1/2 gallon full boils with specialty grains and using only unhopped extract).

There's a guy on this board from Bainbridge, his 'handle' here is "Who is John Malt". Maybe the 3 of us should get together for an AG brew day sometime. It will show you how much the world opens up as you gain brewing experience. If for whatever reason he can't, I'd be happy to have you over here in North Bend and brew a beer with ya in the next couple 3 weeks or so, if you are willing to make the trip.

If your makin' good beer with the Mr. Beer kit, I would try your hand at an extract batch. I have never brewed using the Mr. Beer system but I would imagine that extract brewing is just slightly more difficult. Plus you can make larger batches if that's what you desire.
