Hi from Michigan

Wed Mar 04, 2009 8:52 am

I just want to introduce myself. I am Jim and I live in southern Michigan. I brewed for a very short period of time back in the mid-90's. I recently have gotten back into it. A lot has changed since then in terms of access to homebrewing information. I hope to learn a lot as I come and visit this board and get to "know" all of you. Thanks.

Welcome back to the obsession! Yeah, things have changed a lot since the 90's. Ingredients are better, better equipment is available, new techniques have been developed, better books and information abound, and, of course, we are here to give you a hand.

One of the first things you should do is get a copy of John Palmer's book "How to Brew". You can get that here in the BN store or at your local homebrew shop or you can read the first edition for free online at www.howtobrew.com. John even checks into here from time if you need to ask him a question directly.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. We will be glad to help.

Sounds like an AA meeting...Hi Jim!! :D :asshat:

Welcome. Like both you and bug said....things have definately changed and the BN is responsible for getting a lot of that info out there. Read Charlie P's book then read John Palmer and you can see a lot of the change in there.
