A Complete Amateur from Finland

Thu Jul 31, 2008 5:36 am

Hi!

I live in Finland in the beautiful city of Turku. I have just entered the fascinating world of extract brewing, and my very first batch is bubbling in the corner of my room (it's all so exciting!)
I have done nearly all possible mistakes during the process, and my humble goal right now is just to be able to produce a batch of uncontaminated honeybitter with an average or acceptable taste :D

It's great that I found this forum and be able to discuss and learn about all the problems and aspects of homebrewing. There aren't many Finnish forums concerning brewing and with the valuable information found here I may now be able to spread the knowledge of brewing here in Finland as well!

Happy brewing!

Welcome OV...

You've made the most important first step ... admitting you have a problem .. no wait ... that's my other group ...

You've taken the great leap into brewing. There's no turning back now. And let us know how your first batch a sahti comes out when you make it.

Wow, what coincidence. Hey OV, I'm in Finland as well and joined the BN today after spending a couple weeks in the archive. I'm in Rovaniemi for a few more weeks this summer and then my wife and I will be moving back to Tampere. I homebrewed for a couple of years in the U.S. before coming over here, not brewing at the moment, but always trying to learn and keep up with the craft.

Cheers,
Brandon

Tervetuloa! (I hope this means welcome).

I also had some fun with Google, which will translate for us to Finnish:
