Ghetto? That system is even more sophisticated than mine!

Looking at that picture does bring up a point that I wonder about from time to time. You have your carboy out there in the direct sun while filling it with wort. Most of us have our wort out there in the sun at some point. How much exposure like that does it really take to cause skunking? Jamil? Anyone?

A couple of years ago I gave a doctored beer information session to a few LHB club members. I left a Yuengling lager in a green bottle out in the Florida summer weather for eight hours. Man was it skunky..yuck!

The hefe in the picture turned out quite yummy...thanks to Jamil's suggestion of 62 degrees in primary fermentation temperature. I have never had such a clove phenol presence in my hefe.

Anyway, I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 to 5 hours of sunlight exposure through green or clear glass will lend a nice skunk to our favorite beverage.

I like all of the empty bottles in front of the garage. It looks like you had a fun brew day. :D
