The Pens will be good for a long time, but I think their young guys need to mature a bit more before they will win it all.

I don't know... Fluery did a good job dealing with LePointe in front of him in the first series. He did just fine with Avery in front of him in the Rangers series. I think he's doing alright with guys like Umberger in front of him in the Philly series. He'll do fine.

Why do you bring up that they need to mature?? Detroit's not an aged team. They've got young inexperienced players, too. I think it's going to be the best series of the playoffs... it's going to go 6 or 7 games. Why can't the Pens compete with Detroit?? Our 4th line scores and grinds. The first two lines can score at any time from anywhere. The D has been incredible in the playoffs.

Good matchup.

I think it will be a good series too. But to defend my Rangers... Avery really didn't do much in front of Fluery in that series. I think he was nursing a bad shoulder from a hit in the Devils series. He really didn't have nearly the impact that he shoudl have had. Then he also didn't play the last two games, either.

I hope the Pens sweep, because that would mean that the Rangers were the only team in the East that could beat them. :D And the Rangers outplayed them for a lot of the series. They just couldn't finish when they needed to, and everytime they had a defensive breakdown, Pitt was all over them. Which is why the Pens beat them in the end. They were able to withstand the pressure, and counterstrike effectively. The Rangers played better against Pitt than Philly is playing, and should have won more than just the 1 game they did take. Go Rangers!

Oh well. I still say Go Hockey, and Go Pens (in lieu of the Rangers!)

Brew Engineer... you're right about one thing. The Rangers played a MUCH better series than what the Flyers are playing. Jagr was a man posessed (for the most part) and Philly just doesn't have anyone like that. Maybe Richards... but that was only in the first game.

Watching Game 4 of Dallas and Detroit right now. Dallas has a 2-1 lead... GO STARS!!! I just want that series to take longer than the Pens v. Philly series. I also want to see that Detroit has more breakdowns than the Pens.

This is a pretty strange year for the playoffs. I can't believe how dominant Detroit and Pittsburgh are looking. Are they both really that good?? They just might be. These could be two teams that meet each other in the finals for a few years - ok... wishful thinking.

Lidstrom, Chelios, Draper, Maltby, McCarty, Osgood, Hasek, Holmstrom... they got a few guys who have been around the block.

I think it's going to be the best series of the playoffs...

I agree with you there.

I didn't say the Pens can't do that, I just think Detroit does those things better. Of course, all this talk will be moot sometime next week, eh? :)

Where the heck was Pittsburgh last night? Because they sure as hell weren't in Philadelphia! They looked like shit most of the game. They couldn't pass the puck to save their lives! Its like they didn't care if they wone that game, or else they got cocky being up 3-0.

They better get their shit back together, becasue I DON'T want to root for Detroit in the finals...
