Been there so I feel your pain too.
Been over 3 yrs now, but I gained about 30 lbs or so, then when I fucked up my knee in December, I added another 15 onto that, so I'm a realf fucking fat load now. But, I'm on a diet and starting to take it off again slowly, so hopefully I'll be back down within a few months now that I'm starting to exercise again.

I did it on the patch. I was a couple weeks into it and realized on my way to work that I forgot to put one on that day. Fuck. Usually, that meant sneaking a couple smokes to tide me over. I just mauned up and said "fuck it, I'm not gonna cheat today". Haven't smoked a single one or needed a patch since. BTW, my wife still smokes.

I started smokeless (Skoal) when I was ten, finally quit for good at 41.5, so I chewed for over 75% of my life. Quite 1000+ times but finally got on Chantix (sp?), (one good thing Iowa spent the tobacco money on was for free treatment and drugs,) and quit for almost 8 months now (Oct. 12th). I want a chew everyday but he urge is much less and actually drinking beer is a trigger that I've had to fight through (beer instead of chew, yeah 'ho.) Yeah I've gained weight but weight loss is easier than quitting tobacco so I'm working on both this summer.

The biggest thing with other tobacco users is let them know you quit. Freaken' tell them, "I've quit since XXX date" which should stop them from offering. If they keep offering, tell to FO and that tobacco isn't allowed around you and if that's a problem, it's their problem not yours. I used to work with 3 chewers and informed them not to ever offer or no more bbq and homebrew, never had a issue after that. :D
-I live in my own little world. But that's okay because they know me there.

Back at it, man. It's tough, I know. The best advice I can offer is to start paying for your gas at the pump. I found that if I could stay out of the gas station, I wouldn't need to buy a pack.

Good luck, gbob. Just think about how much better beer will smell and taste to you.
