clear glass growlers

I know that light is bad for beer. I also thought that once light hit the beer, the reaction would continue even after the light was removed. If that is true, then why do my local breweries use clear glass growlers?

I figured as much... So, how long can beer be in the light before it goes bad? 15 mins? 30? 24 hours? Once its in the light, has the process started? How long do I have?

When one of my local breweries used to use them, they don't anymore, I tended to wrap it in a blanket or in a cooler just in case and not leave it out for any length of time. What I can remember is as little as 30-60minutes can really impact a beer.
