First Sour Beer

Tue Feb 05, 2013 10:08 am

So I brewed my first sour beer last november 2011. Finally tasted and kegged it today and it is PIMP!!! I think it came out very well, I used a better bottle so I could distinguish it from the rest and know its sour only. Better bottles have very low oxygen permeation, not alot of acetobacter character just enough to make it jut right. I think I enter this into NHC

Sounds great, did you take a final gravity? I am curious, I have brewed several flanders reds but feel that mine dry out too much over time.

Well that's pretty dry depends if its 1009 or 1001. You can always blend some English brown or mild to bring the maltiness back
