No, no, not when it comes to stuff like this, I'd hate to get labeled as that guy. When it comes to trading I try to ship the next day, two or three if there's a weekend involved. I enjoy the giving aspect of stuff like this and try to surprise people with a good offering. I'm a giver:)

The procrastination comes with working, cleaning the house, working on the budget, bottling for comps, cleaning after the brew day kegging... I'm not sure that I'm helping here but um, yeah

So am I; I saw the "one bomber" suggestion and laughed, knowing I'm going to send a 'bit' more than that.

The rule has always been you may supplement with commercial. This is still a homebrew swap.

I hope you don't rule me out for this, but the only homebrew I have are my first two batches; I'm not only a newb to the forum, but a newb to brewing too. My plan had been to send a variety of commercial only. While I'm happy to send some of what I've made too, the spirit of the rules, I can't guarantee quality.

Absolutely send it and let your SS know if you want feedback. Some good commercial stuff will lessen the blow :-D

Yup! My comments about choosing NOT to send some of my stuff is coming from a place of a bit more experience. If I have a batch that doesn't turn out, often I will have a good idea of why, and be able to make adjustments in the future. If you aren't there, and are looking for feedback, then sending even a problem beer and asking for feedback will have value to YOU.

I think you shouldn't be excluded if you don't have homebrew to share. Yes, it's homebrew focused, but if you have nothing, then, by all means, send local stuff. It's all about sharing among BN brothers. I like getting stuff I can't get in Texas. I think as long as you ship something, we're cool. It's freaking Christmas, for crying out loud. Let's share! :bnarmy:

Last year, when I was a newb, I think I only sent off one bottle of homebrew. It was probably horrible, but I sent along 4 bombers or different beer that I know the recipient didnt have distributed in his area. This is a fun way to get to know some of you fellow soldiers. Hell my New Years eve party would not have been what it was without the bottle of AdamK's barleywine he sent to me last year. Fuck that topped of the festivities nicely.
